Hey!
I am currently a student at an Ivy League school looking to transfer to either a state school or LAC. I basically came to a realization that the Ivy life is not for me for a number of reasons.
Do you think transferring from an Ivy gives me an advantage at LACs and state schools?
I am aware that more goes into it like GPA, ECs, Recs, etc. (Of which I feel are strong.)
4.0 will give you the most transfer options, but some schools take very few transfers. Also, the net price may be worse, especially if you are getting FA from one of the super FA schools.
I think you will have no problem getting into a state school and LAC (depending on how competive you are looking for). Are finances a consideration? What area are you thinking- and how competitive of a LAC are u thinking? Aldo, are you a freshman?
@suzyQ7 I am a freshman. I’m looking at top 5 LACs. I’m considering PoliSci right now. Finances are a factor. Do you know how different the financial aid will likely be?
top LACs generally give great financial aid to all admitted students, but the problem is that there are very few spots available and the schools may not be need blind. That being said, your 4.0 from an Ivy league school is obviously very impressive.
