Transferring from an out of state school, is it really that impossible?

I am a California resident attending a private two-year school in Massachusetts with a reputation for great transfer destinations. It makes a lot of sense to go to a UC (price, location, weather, education) but I wonder if I shot myself in the foot by attending an out of state school instead of a CCC. I was simply wondering if people had any stories of out of state transfers into UC's, particularly Berkeley and UCLA. I am relatively sure I will get a 4.0 after these two years but I am not sure if that even matters due to the great disadvantage of losing priority to the CCC students.

It isn’t impossible; however, it will be more difficult. Unlike students who attend a CCC you won’t have access to course transferability and course equivalency information. So you might apply thinking you have met the requirements and once reviewed be short the required units or short a required course.
