I currently attend a 4 yr school in Boston as a freshman but I'm trying to transfer back to California. I applied to UCI. I was wondering how many transfers from other 4 yr schools do they accept. My first semester grades were terrible. I had a 2.79 but it was mostly due to being away from home for the first time and the whole adjustment period. However, on the application, I was able to apply a class I took at a CC over summer and got an A in as transferable college coursework which brought my gpa over the 2.8 limit required for non-residents. This semester my grades are in the 3.0-3.5 range, I've been doing much better, and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in. I had a lot of APs and I was originally accepted to UCI as a HS senior. I know I have 10 more days to wait, but its killing me.

I am in the exact same position, and i go to a 4yr school in boston, BU. i had the same problem first semester - dropped a class changing majors fiasco. My current gpa is a 3.23 but I expect 3.4 - 3.5 for this semester. I was also originally accepted to UCI. I plan on majoring in anthro or global cultures. That wait is killing me also, mentally I'm a wreck.

Wow. I'm at BU too, small world. I really hope UCI takes me, and the wait has really been agonizing.
