Hey everyone thanks for taking the time to read this here is my situation bear with me here it's a long one. It all started when I moved to a small farm town in Iowa and met a girl who I ended up dating for around 3 years, we dated from when I moved there to when I moved away and we still talk to this day and see each other occasionally. Her dad had to have open heart surgery and ended up passing, the last talk they had was a fight which was over me. You can understand the toll this took on me as a freshman in high school, I ran away from my problem and moved back with my dad while he started a business in the Chicago land area. Ever since then I have had a passion for medicine, when I think about performing a surgery I can almost feel that passion in my whole body if that even makes sense. Back to when I moved away though I finished freshman year with a 4.0 easily but spiraled into a deep depression after his passing and ended up graduating with only a 3.0 and a 26 on my act due to way too much partying(before the ACT also) and really just because I didn't care about anything. I decided to go to ASU, during the 3rd day at a frat party I ended up blacking out and woke up in a yard at 4:00am and on the walk home thought about a lot and realized that this whole time I've been acting like someone I'm not, I want to help people and make a difference and I want to get on that path as fast as possible. Now that you understand the background here is my question.

1) Would I have a decent chance of getting into Furman, going off my high school record of course since I want to transfer after one semester? I understand they really try to see past grades and test scores and hope that the essay I wrote explaining why I want to attend Furman would influence them in a positive manner.

Once again thank you for taking up so much of your own personal time to help me.
