Hey all,

I just finished my first year at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. While its a school most people have not heard of, it does have a repuation in the medical and engineering fields. Unfortunatley I had no plans to become an engineer or doctor, and have a strong desire to transfer.

I came here largely because of the financial aid, but as I've learned over the last year, the aid was not really worth the struggled I had at Case. The school is socially dismal and surrounding city is undesirable.

I had always wanted to go to a liberal arts college, but the large aid package attracted me there.

I am going to reapply to transfer for the spring semester, and am coming up with a list of schools under consideration.

I'm open to any suggestions and advice regarding the transfer process.

To give you an idea of my standings, I applied to Georgetown and Carleton this past semester but was sadly rejected (haha). I have about a 3.1 GPA (at Case, there are no pluses/minus grades), I have tons of various work experience, and traveling experience around the world. I'm from the northeast (NJ), and hope to stay kinda close to home, but at this point I'm looking anywhere almost. Schools that give large financial aid are preferable, but this is less likely among liberal arts colleges.

On my list so far are Vassar, BU, Michigan, TCNJ, Carleton (again), and anymore to come. I realize my chances are slim, and that there is a huge emphasis on GPA (which isnt reallly in my favor), but I can hopefully get in somewhere.

Thanks
