Right now, I’m attending my first Fall semester here at Cal State Monterey Bay as a transfer. I transferred from Cabrillo College. I’m wanting to transfer to San Jose State. I tried applying to SJSU last fall, but made the mistake of choosing a business major with a gpa that was too high of a threshold than my own cause I didn’t know any better and since SJSU is an impacted campus and all of their majors are impacted I didn’t get accepted and which is why I’m here at CSUMB. I wanted to know any advice on the processing of this on transferring from CSU to CSU. Will San Jose consider my CSUMB gpa even though its only my first semester or will they mostly look at my Cabrillo transcript still and the gpa I held there? I have well over enough of the transferable units from my CC since I got into CSUMB. And looking down the road, will San Jose take my upper division classes that I’m taking right now at CSUMB? I’m asking this as to know whether I should be taking more upper division classes in the Spring at CSUMB or hold off on that semester and seeing if I’d be accepted to San Jose State.
