I'm having difficulty trying to find direction. Basically, I'm not a tradition student. I'm 17, going to a community college right now to get my a.a./ general education. However, I left high school...and got my GED because of many family and medical issues that were going on at the time. So I never took the SAT or ACT, and although I have a 4.0 gpa in my college right now. I feel confident that my grades will be enough, but I don't really have any extracurricular experience and I'm not aware of much opportunity for it. I want to study International Affairs or maybe Political Science as a pre-med. I want to go to a good college, I know ivy league is way far fetched but maybe I have a good chance of getting into:
Georgetown U
George Washington U
NYU
Boston U

Is it common for people to get into these colleges transferring from a community college? I feel sort of inferior. Should I take the SAT?
