I'm 19 and I have just finished my first year of CC. Currently, I have 25 credits with a 3.72 GPA. All A's in my core classes with the exception of Biology 101, which I received a B in. I'm taking another class this summer, and assuming I get an A; my GPA should be around a 3.8. This will leave me with 28 credits. I'm also in Phi Theta Kappa if that counts for anything. I'm an Economics major and I really haven't looked at any colleges. However, I'm receiving interest from the University of South Carolina, and a few small scale schools. I was just wondering if it is realistic for me to be able to transfer into a decent to great college with so few credits for the fall semester. Or even to transfer with 41 credits in the spring semester. My other area of concern is that I haven't taken a transferable math course yet; some lack of communication with my advisor contributed to this. However, I am eligible for a transferable math course in the fall semester. What type of schools can I get into with my body of work? and what type of schools can I get into if I stretch my credits out to 41? I was also hoping for some advice on which direction I should go. I feel like I can get into a decent school like the University of South Carolina for the upcoming fall semester; however, I also feel like if I wait it out and get my associates while maintaining or improving upon my GPA that I can get into some really good schools. I don't which route to go with, I really want to transfer out as soon as possible though.

I would just finish your A.A at the community college if I were you. That’s what I did and I saved a lot of money. Also, from what I have noticed a lot of classes at CC, mainly the social sciences and writing classes are easier than at universities. From there you can simply apply for scholarships until you finally transfer.

Seb, how’d it end up saving you a lot of money in the long run? Compared to if you transferred earlier.

bump.
