I messed up my first year of CCC and ended up with a D in regular biology. I'm planning to retake that class on my last semester before transferring. I'm hoping to apply for FALL 2015. Since applications are coming up this fall.. what are my chances of me getting accepted. I currently have a 2.8 and hopefully after summer, I'll have a 3.0. Am I a strong candidate to get in from a CCC since I've taken major of the classes required for my major?

Classes I've completed (from ASSIST.org) with grades

ENGLISH 3 - C

WRITING 1 - A

COMUNCN 1 - B

BIOLSCI 2B - B

ECON 1B - A

PSYCH 1 - B

SOCIOL 1 - A

*I will be taking CHEM 2A during SPRING 2014 and also BIOLSCI 2A & CHEM 2B during SPRING 2015.

Classes I still need: (my CCC does not offer any compatible courses.)
CHEM 8A
CHEM 8B

If it is at all possible to get your grade up to a 3.20, you should try to because you would be able to TAG UC Davis in your major with a 3.20 which would guarantee your admission. However, if you cannot TAG, according to their website a 2.80 GPA is still considered competitive.

Also, if possible, retake biology this fall since they require candidates to have a minimum 2.50 GPA over the required math, biology, and chemistry courses for transfer that you have already taken (which would count your biology class) by the time you submit application updates in January. For TAG, they are looking for B- minimum over all required courses in math, biology, and chemistry (and are expected to maintain that average through the time of your enrollment).

I got accepted to UC Davis this year with a 2.8 and I had most of my pre reqs completed with the exception of 2 classes but I didn’t TAG. Just keep your grades up and if you can raise your gpa then do so. So it definitely is possible.
