Transferring from community college after a year?

Is there anything wrong with transferring from community college after a year? As of right now I have a gpa of a 3.3 and plan on taking summer classes as well. Has anybody had the success of transferring from community college to University after a year of studies at community college?

It is certainly done unless you are in a state where the public four-years schools require 60ish credits and you are applying to those schools (e.g.CA). Otherwise it is a question of 1) whether you want to pay more; and 2) whether the school will accept you. And every school will be different. You need to identify the schools you are interested in and look at their transfer student policies to see if they have any restrictions. Sometimes it even varies by major within the school.

Whether or not it’s one year is less important than the number of units you’ve completed.

I know that’s important I just wanted someone’s input that’s all.

It’s doable but it depends on the units. Some schools have a minimum # of units in order to consider a transfer student.

If I remember correctly from another thread you did poorly in highschool like myself right? If you transfer from CC after only a year, that means they only see your fall grades while they’re evaluating your application, and that means they will place alot of weight on your high school grades.
