How does transferring from community college to a four-year institution work??? ..
Can i transfer after only one year at a community college or would i have to wait two years?? which is more beneficial?

Usually you can transfer after one or after two years. We would need to know a lot more specifics about your situation to have any opinion at all about which would be more beneficial for you.

You cold post more details here. And/or you could seek the advice of your cc's transfer counseling staff.

I'm still in high school and have decided to go to cc instead of heading straight to a 4-year institution so i can explore my options then be absolutely sure of what i wanna do when heading to a 4-year university.

In Oregon, where my Community college is, 2 years at any Community college in Oregon will transfer to any state university in oregon, and some private colleges... and even some Washington colleges.

Specifically, you will have junior standing in the 4-year college, although you might filfill all the general ed requirements of the specific departments (I think).. but that's not an issue as long as you register for the right classes and make informed descisions.

I think it's better to finish the second year because then you will at least have a 2-year degree.

I think the main difference is that with 1 year they'll put more emphasis on evaluating your high school performance
