Hey guys, I'm going to be submitting a transfer application to UF as soon as my grades for the fall semester come in.. I'm expecting to have these stats on the FIU transcript that they will receive..

3.795 GPA
76 Credits by the end of Fall '08
Taking 14 Credits in the Spring of '09
Will have all my pre-reqs done.
Applying to CLAS
Specifically for Chemistry.
Do they consider SAT for transfer?
If so,
1410 On Math and Writing, 2090 with three sections.

HS I had a 3.4. They did accept me off of a wait-list to begin freshman year, but it was too late for me to be able to change and go there.
Thanks.

They do not look at your SAT scores.

I heard that the CLAS is one of the easier colleges to transfer into. Is this true?

Also, it's worth noting that when I spoke to someone from the CLAS, she said that an AA from a state university would not factor into the decision making process. Does anyone have any comments on this?

I also heard that "myth" as well. Keep in mind that as a transfer, you have to meet the pre-professional gpa for your major, besides your overall gpa.

If you have 76 credits by the end of this fall, then 14 after spring, wouldnt that put you at 90 credits upon your arrival at UF? I made an appointment with a CLAS advisor and she told me if you have 90 credits or more you cannot transfer in as thats too many credits, about CLAS being easier I dunno, you need a 3.5 overall minimum GPA and she told me transfer admission has been reduced significantly this year. She also said they expect a rise in applications simply from others simply because UF may win another title this year. And the AA from a SU doesnt make a difference its only CC kids.

I just called transfer admissions, and they said that the 90 credits shouldn't be a problem; however if there are too many upper division courses that you have taken, some of them may not transfer over; thankfully i have only taken a few upper division courses, and they are ones that do not apply to my major. However, she said that the CLAST will need to be satisfied by the time I enter, which thankfully is satisfied for me.

your stats look good to me im at fiu and got accepted as a transfer for spring...i had an AA from mdc..my gpa was a mere 3.4 at fiu...at mdc it was a 3.7...and i had a lot of credits..to mee i think ur in!

Assuming u have all you pre-reqs
