Transferring from Fullerton College (ccc)

Hi, I’m a student currently attending Fullerton college and planning to transfer to UCLA or Berkeley.

I have heard that Dental Schools do not favor if you finished your Pre-requisites course from community colleges.

  1. Can you retake those courses at UC even if I have already finished those classes through transferable courses?
  2. Do pre-dental students need to volunteer at various healthcare like pre-med students?

I have just finished my first semester and really hoping I can transfer after two years of community college. Did well on my first semester and received 4.0 this semester with 5 classes. However, I am planning to change my major from biology to something within letter and science since it’s difficult to get my classes to finish my major courses for biology.

Will I be in risk for excessive units retake those classes at UC if I do retake those classes?

Units earned at any UC campus (extension, summer, cross/concurrent and regular academic year enrollment) are not included in the limitation but are added to the maximum transfer credit allowed and may put applicants at risk of being denied admission due to excessive units.

no you cannot and should not retake any prereqs, unless you have a bad grade.

Just take several upper division science courses — and to well – at the 4-year college to prove that you can handle the rigors of professional school.
