Hi guys, so I’m currently a freshman at GMU, and quite honestly I don’t like it. I’ve always wanted to go to James Madison but I was not accepted last year (I emailed them asking why and they said it was because my grades where too low). I decided to keep an open mind about Mason, because you always hear the stories of people who fall in love with the school they originally didn’t want to go to. This is not the case lol. So here are my stats:
High School:
SAT: 1175 (without writing)
GPA: 3.5
IB Exams: I got a 5 in French, a 6 in English, and a 4 in Art
GMU:
Major: Engineering undeclared
GPA: its only the first week of school but lets assume I get between a 3.5 and 4.0 this semester
Credits: I’m currently taking 12 credits(all core classes), I have 10 in my pocket already from my IB exams, and I’m planning on taking 16 next semester.
One major setback though is that I’m not currently in any math classes because I did not get a high enough score on the placement test, and I won’t be able to retake it until next year…which sucks beyond belief:/
I know that because of math I probably won’t get in this year, but why not try? Honestly I almost wish that I just went to community college for a year and then went to JMU since they give priority to cc students.
