I am attending George Mason University as a freshman this fall, and I am studying Mechanical Engineering. I am planning on applying to transfer to the Virginia Tech College of Engineering after a year. What are some things I can do to boost my chances of getting in? Will I be a competitive applicant if I maintain a GPA of around 3.6? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give, I really want to get into Virginia Tech.
My son did this successfully two years ago. Make sure to work with your advisor to match the classes to the VT curriculum - probably THE most important factor in this process. His advisor two years ago was wonderful! His whole mindset that year was to study and it paid-off with a 4.0. Good luck!
Thank you so much!
