Hi i am currently a business administration student at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. I am supposed to transfer to Santa Monica College next fall but would really like it if i could go to a 4 year school instead. I have about a 3.8 gpa. I am really interested in going to Pepperdine or Loyola Marymount University. My aunt graduated from Loyola in Baltimore, MD so that would help out a bit and i know the dean of admissions at Pepperdine but i was just wondering if it was possible to transfer to a 4 year school after 1 year of community college. I really dont want to be stuck at community college for another year but if thats the case then i would definitely move to cali and just go to SMC for a year and then one of those 2 schools. Thanks!

Lots of people transfer to four year institutions after only one year of community college. Some do it after just a semester! Make an appointment with the transfer advisor at MCC and get some help organizing your applications.

Good luck!
