Transferring from NYU to Cornell

Thanks anyway, dude (assuming). =)

I emailed cornell about their requirements and they said:

"Thank you for your interest in the College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences at Cornell University. The course requirements listed for
transfer should be completed or in progress at the time that you are
applying. All courses should be completed by the time you enter
Cornell if you are admitted. If you have any other questions, please
do not hesitate to contact our office. Thank you."

So it looks like summer school might be an option.

To the OP and Jimmy, the Bio requirement is pretty flexible. In fact, the requirement can be completed AT CORNELL, but for this to happen the candidate needs to be riddiculously talented as Cornell takes into consideration completion of prereqs and recommend subjects for each major. This suggests that they would value probably value a person with a 2250 and only the prereqs and no recommend courses done less than a person with a 2150+ and all recommend and prereqs done because that person shows a greater interest in the program he is applying to.

The comparison is purely from my own analysis. But the taking the course at Cornell and the way they evaluate prereqs is from Cornell.

[on a slightly different note] I'm going to start calling the office because I want to establish some kind of name recognition that I don't think email correspondence adaquetly does this. Rather than my 2 emails to the Cornell office, I could have called CALS twice, and started up their true education in dearsiryes!

You could be a pain in the ass like me and call 2 weeks after EVERY SINGLE little piece of your app is sent to confirm that it's been received. They always sound annoyed when I call four/five months before the app is due and ask if they've gotten my high school transcripts. :D It's gonna be a long road ahead.

But on the bright side, when they review your applicant and ask the phone attendant to copy something and she sees your application materials she'll be heard saying something sound like:

"That prick kept calling and calling and calling. 'Did this reach?' and 'Did that reach?' Accept him and save me this misery!"

And when you're accepted and you walk up to thank her, she keels over in fear and shock.

I dunno. I'm just tired of evaluating Petronius.

do u have to take a two semester bio lab to be able to apply to CALS?
i kno on the pre-req site it says including labs but i'm taking a chem lab so i'm not taking a bio lab...

I think you'd be best served by emailing them. The Cornell Biology pre-req situation is not clearly explained =/
