Hello all. I just finished up with my freshman year at my local community college down here in north Texas. I am 22 years old and extremely involved in school. For instance, I am Historian of the Honors Program at school, member of Phi Theta Kappa, Vice President of a nursing club and also volunteer at an animal shelter and our school’s food pantry. I have been researching about transfer students applying to UCLA and it’s always the same story: it’s too hard to get into, they are very selective, they prioritize in-state vs. out-of-state students, there’s no point to bother. I am sick of hearing the same things over and over again. I want to start a discussion of any students who transferred out-of-state to UCLA. I know that the price of tuition is higher, I understand all of that. But there’s no persuading me out of it. I want to move out of TX and transfer to UCLA. Really just looking for some encouraging advice and testimonies. Once this thread gets going, I’ll probably ask more elaborate questions but until then all advice is taken into consideration and appreciated. (:
Here is some transfer GPA’s for UCLA 2014, just to give you an idea of what is needed for your major.

Wow, thank you for that information. Are you currently going to UCLA?
No, I am a parent. I am a regular poster on CC so if I have some helpful information, I will post. Good Luck to you.
