I haven’t heard before of anything for psychology other than the general liberal arts requirements. According to liberal arts, your 3.5 should be good enough to get in. Do you already have 30 hours? If not, then the next semester’s grades will also be used to determine your admission. If that is the case, then you could even raise it up and remove any doubt about getting in.

If someone knows of any special requirements for psychology, please join in. Otherwise, I think you are in good shape.

Thanks! Yeah, I know I can raise my grades this next semester. We have the plus minus scale and I had a b+ that I should’ve had an A in so I know that I can do a lot better this semester.

No, I will not have 30 hours by the time I apply. Does anyone know when they let transfer students know if they get in? I’ve heard that it is in the summer after your second semester grades. Any experience from anyone?

When I transferred last spring, I heard back about two weeks after I submitted my spring transcript.

Did you get in? Where did you transfer from??

Also I have a question about the resume that you submitted when you transferred… did you put things from college on there as well as high school things? i mean I have done a lot of things in college but my resume will look pretty bare without some high school things. Thanks for the help!

^ Thats a good question. I’d like to hear an answer to that as well since my transcript application will also look bare.

I transferred from ACC. I heard back in about two weeks after hand delivering my spring transcript. As far as the resume, I actually didn’t even submit it. My file said it was complete without it and I took them at their word. I transferred in with a 4.0 so maybe in more marginal cases the resume would be the deciding factor.

That’s just how the transfer process goes, 75% has to be based on GPA alone, probably 15-20% Essays, 5-10% extra curriculars

Did they ask you for your SAT score? I am an international student currently at one of the community colleges in Texas. I already finished 30+ hours of college level course with GPA 3.9 They are asking for my SAT score which is pretty much low. I’ve great resume, essay, letter of recommendation, EC’s etc. but I’m really worried about my SAT. I am applying for computer science and I have rally done well in science, mathematics and computer science courses. I am sure I will be rejected at once if they judge me by my SAT score. I am really worried.

they don’t ask transfers for HS info, right?

since i’m international student…they asked me for high school transcript.

on the transfer website it says that you need to send a high school transcript AFTER you’ve been admitted-- you can send it when you are applying, but it is not required. I’m not sending mine now because it isn’t required and i don’t want to risk it even though i didn’t have bad grades in high school, my college ones are better.

I seem to have missed that… strange because i’ve been obsessively reading whats required. Do you mind showing me the link where you found that they need a HS transcript after you are admitted?

[Requirements | Transfer | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/requirements/index.html)

Read “Required for Enrollment”

Thanks for the link! I see that now. I don’t think i’ll be sending my HS transcript until i’m admitted, either. Like the previous poster said, my grades were good but not UT good. Obviously, or else I would have been accepted last year. I hope that won’t effect my chances…

If you applied last year they should have your transcript on file already(along with your test scores) so you shouldn’t have to re-submit them, I think.

They might have discarded my test scores. Apparently they don’t use those for transfers, they just look at your HS classes for placement purposes. But they said they don’t look at your grades or rank.

^ if you don’t mind me asking, are you a freshman transfering your sophomore year? and what school are you applying to be in? have you heard of any easy majors that are easy to get into being a transfer? originally i wanted to be in interior design (architecture school) but there is no chance i can get in to that so now i’m sticking to liberal arts. i’m also working on my essays. this feels just like a year ago!!
