I have a confession to make… I slacked off in school and every standardized exam… let it be the ACT,A levels or the IGCSEs so my grades were pretty average (ish). The weird thing is that I got into a top notch business school in the UK, Warwick University. Now here is the question ,for some personal reasons I think I should be transfer back to the US after a year. Do you think if I perform well in the Warwick University, it would be rather easy to transfer courses from the UK to the US?
Should the process be a little smooth?
It won’t be smooth, but I doubt that the issue will be your secondary school grades. As you know, “courses” in the US and UK are entirely different. UK university students generally study one or two subjects in depth. At many American universities you can potentially take around eight, nine or ten classes, each in a different department, if you wanted to, freshman year. (On the other hand, at some US universities you apply to particular schools within the institution, so this can impact your choice of classes.) Some US colleges also have core course requirements.
You’ll need to pick up the phone and actually talk to someone in admissions to see what can be worked out. Pick a few US universities, do some research, and then speak to them personally about your individual situation. You might start by seeing whether any US universities have study abroad relationships with Warwick. That may help smooth things a bit, but I’m only guessing at that.
Oh man Thanks for the tips! really I didn’t really know how to check my own threads at first. But what you said really shed a lot of light on that! THANK YOU
