Transferring from Trinity to Pratt Immediately after acceptance?

As the title says, would it be very difficult to transfer from Trinity to Pratt pretty much immediately after acceptance? I hope to get into duke through RD, but I am unsure as to whether I would focus on Biomedical Engineering or Biology.

Would they basically have to reevaluate my entire application if i decide to change if I get accepted, or would it be better to maybe go ahead and ask for a change right now while they're still in the decision making process?

You can request a change after your first semester. The only engineering class that you should take freshman fall is EGR53 which, I believe, you can register for regardless of school.

It's completely fine. I have a friend who applied for Trinity, got in and then switched to Pratt right after being accepted.

Just enroll in EGR53 first semester, and then talk with your advisor about it when you get to Duke.

I knew someone who switched from Pratt to Trinity in the middle of the semester...no reason why it shouldn't work the other way

There are two issues - pursuing a particular degree and being enrolled in a particular school. You can pursue a Trinity or Pratt degree from Day 1, regardless of which accepted you. I have students in the Fall in EGR 53 who are officially Trinity; I have Pratt freshman advisees who show up the Thursday before classes start in the Fall, we talk about their plans to major in Art History and take Japanese, and they never set foot in an engineering building again. Well...except during eSocials.

At some point your school must match your pursuit. You can apply to change schools just about any time, but typically, the first time Pratt and Trinity officials will examine such requests will be at the end of freshman year. In truth, however, there's nothing a student officially enrolled in one school can do that one who's not can't with respect to taking classes and such.

TAdd, I have the same exact problem as you. When I originally applied a few months ago, I figured that I'd be majoring in bio and applied to Trinity. But lately, after reading up on the biomed engineering program, I really think I would much rather major in that.

Pretty reassuring to know that I wouldn't have a problem switching if I do in fact decide on biomedical engineering in the end.
