Is it hard to transfer from UC Davis/UC Riverside to UC San Diego after freshman year? Sophomore year? (how high of GPA do you need? certain classes one should take?)

it seems you're considering intercampus...

this is a better forum: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=485

each UC has varying reqs...LA and Cal accepts primarily junior transfers (applied in soph year).

As for sd, you should look into the GEs for the college (out of the six) that you are interested in transfering into. As for GPA, 3.3-3.5 would put in you good stead. Don't worry too much about CCC transfers having priority, just do your best and try to finish your major/ GE reqs. Most often, your UC will have UC reciprocity where the GEs that u take from UCR/UCD will directly transfer to another UC (sd). I'd say watch out for Revelle/ERC college cuz they're stringent about their writing/humanities GEs (you might need to take them even if you think u satisfied the writing courses). Anyways, good luck deciding.

In sum, it depends on your major...
1.) finish your lower division prereqs for your major
2.) finish your GEs (APs will really help here)
3.) maintain good GPA
4.) I'm not sure about SD's transfer reqs, so check if you need to have junior standing when u transfer.

Those are most important imo.

Some ECs and a good essay will help.
