So I had an unique high school opportunity at which I simultaneously got my high school diploma and associate of art’s degree at a local community college concurrently as well as satisfying some prerequisites for my major, computer engineering. After doing the freshmen app back in 2007 I didn’t get in. Most of my advisers said it was a space issue (“you got the grades, but no space”). Anyway, I had a 4.0 at the time but now I have a 3.88 GPA with a 28 ACT. Extracurriculars included computer and robotics club

UCF is okay but it is not what I expected. I visited UF and realized that is the place I want to be. I have a transfer application in for Fall 2009 for the College of Engineering for Computer Engineering. CISE wants 8 specific math and science courses (calc, physics) and I should be done with them all by summer 09. I have 4/8 of them done right now. Again I also brought in 70+ credits and will be getting even more this fall and spring, ones specific to my major that is.

What are the chances of me getting in as a transfer? This past summer I had a programming internship and I listed that in the “what have you done since your last app” page.

Apparently transfer is different from freshman. What I understand is that they need my high school and postsecondary transcripts and that’s it. Should I send my ACT scores anyway? What about letters? Will they even read them? Will they give me a checklist? So far I’ve got the “Your application has been submitted” screen for about two weeks. I just need to know what to throw in the mail so to speak to make sure the app is complete.

Remember I am a first-time-in-college, but junior-level standing at UCF. I’m only 18… is this just first semester blues? Would I regret transferring in the long run? More rhetorical at the moment but I’d love to give UF another shot. I still have an entire year to grow and learn about opportunities here but I feel that if I don’t give UF another shot I’ll never forgive myself.
