Transferring from UCR to UCB. Can it be done??

I'm currently enrolled in UCR rite now and i want to transfer into berkeley for fall 08. my gpa is 3.4 and i think i can probably get it up to 3.55-3.6 and i was wondering if its possible for me to get in and how selective are they for uc to uc transfers. i just started researching this process today so i dont really know anything about it yet so any help will be appreciated.

yes, it's possible.

how selective are they? well I'm not sure, but all i can say you guys probably have more priority than out-of-state-students.

if you look at the official uc 2007 transfer dead, there's a handful of uc-intercampus transfers.

you come after the CC students though,, so tough competition for few spaces when others get more priority.

It also depends on your major. Some majors are more impacted than others. What is your major?

business. im guessing its going to be pretty hard?

Are you applying as a junior level transfer? UCB will only accept transfers at the junior level. Haas business school is difficult to get into, and has specific admission course requirements. I suggest you check out their website.

As a Cal transfer, I can tell you they are selective over the UC to UC transfers. I remember two to three people raising their hands when we were asked who is transfering from a UC school and this was out of 100-200 people. I would say 98% were CC students and the rest UC and cal state schools, to be honest I don't even remember seeing out of state transfers but maybe they didn't make it to the orientation so who knows?

Anyway, is it possible? Yes, anything is.. the question is how hard? I would say do your best in school right now, fill out an application, get a great personal statement and go from there. If you don't make it, at least you put in your best effort and you are still in a UC school which is admirable enough as it is.

Good luck!

That is a very difficult major to get into, it is very hard to transfer in general, your GPA isn't very high. It's not realistic.

For Haas, be sure you have all the right prerequisites.

Out of 1314 transfer applicants, 817 were considered ineligible, because they "didn't show planned completion of the admission requirements."

Of the remaining 443 eligible applicants, 96 were admitted (21.6% acceptance).

wow, interesting statistic^

should I even apply or is it not worth it?

Frankly, it's not even worth it.

how is ucr?
