Transferring from UTSA to UT

SAT: 1650/2400
GPA: 3.8/5
Rank: 26%
7 APs

So I didn't apply to UT Austin because I didn't have the chance of getting in and it was a waste of money and time. I applied to only UH and foolishly didn't write an essay because I knew I was going to get in. But I was rejected. My grades and ECs were weak and I just didn't feel any motivation to apply myself; I was considering not going to college at all. Then, University of Houston offered me the UH-Downtown option. So I planned on going to Downtown for a year and then transfer over to UH's main campus. But I feel like going to downtown is a way of settling and dragging myself along. Their automatic admission for SAT (Cr+math) is 850 and that's not what I studied all those hours in high school for. I understand my grades aren't good but I want to go to a better school. My question is if I attend UTSA and do well, can I transfer into UT even though I wasn't capped? What are the chances? And if I can't get into UT, is it easy to transfer into UH after studying at UTSA for a year?

UH is really easy to get into , and why did you not Apply to UT , you coudlve gotten CAPed and you wouldved gotten automatic admission to UGS , Also admissions to UT depend on what major your applying to. Im a current CAP student and UTSA isn’t that hard but its not a blowoff , if you study you can easily get above a 3.8 , i got a 3.94 last semester , but if you party all day everyday and skip classes you will get screwed. You have to learn how to balance, Its not community college blowoff easy but its not UT excessively hard either, and you should be fine.
