Transferring from Wake Technical CC to NCSU for Architecture

Does anyone know how difficult it is to transfer into the Architecture Program at the College of Design at NC State University?

My son is 16, will graduate high school this winter and graduate Wake Tech in the Spring with an Associate of Arts.
GPA from Wake Tech at the end of last Spring is 3.788 ( currently has As in all courses this fall)
All classes he has ( or will take Spring Semester) are transferable to NCSU & correspond to the requirements for the Architectural Degree (he has also taken several Architectural Technology classes, which probably won’t transfer, but will give him experience)
ACT 29

He has submitted his application as a transfer student for fall 2018 & is now working on a portfolio… he won’t be taking an actual art class until Spring Semester, & portfolio is due Nov 1, so he will have to do this on his own… any recommendations on what to include in the portfolio?

Do his chances look good? Or is this a very competitive program and difficult to transfer into?

Not sure if it make a difference, but he did mark “Hispanic” on his application ( his grandfather is from Puerto Rico)

Thank you in advance for any insight!

Submit a stellar portfolio and I think you will be fine. There are no quota for races…they just accept based on merit and the students ability to succeed.
