If I wanted to transfer from Weinberg to Medill School of Journalism or the Communications school, would they jsut accept me? Or would I be applying as a transfer student or what? How hard would it be?

you don't have to reapply... if you are entering 2009 as a freshmen then all you have to do is send a letter or email to the dean saying you want to switch. however, if your entering as something else in 2009, im not sure what the rules are, but im pretty sure you dont have to apply as a transfer...

But the thing is, for communication you need a portfolio if youre applying there and u need talent obviously for medill. so if u get accepted to weinberg, will they make u submit a portfolio and review your app---or just let you transfer.

In communications, unless you want to be a theatre major, I think all you have to do is write the dean and ask her if it might be possible to transfer from WCAS before school starts in the fall so that you enter as a communication major. Medill is a little tougher to transfer into because they only have very limited spaces for freshmen. Either way, write to the dean of your preferred school in the near future because it is much easier to transfer before you start at Northwestern.

There is no portfolio due to apply to communications, in fact they really discourage people from sending in work...

Yeah, my friend is switching from weinberg to communications, i don't think it's too hard.
