Transferring from Wellesley College

Hi, are there any people out there who may have any experience themselves or know anyone who has transferred out of wellesley college?

If so, I’m really struggling with putting into words why I want to transfer and any suggestions would really be appreciated.

I love Wellesley academics, it’s great, but the social environment is not for me, and I think I would fit in better at a co-ed school.

That is probably enough. I know a woman who transferred for the same reason. It’s 3 years of your life.

see if you can find an academic reason to transfer – a major of your interest that is not offered at W is always a safer reason.

I agree with everyone else who has already posted. I think we are all saying you can transfer for valid reason. Social issues are valid but not the “parties aren’t that good” type social reason.

Perhaps something along the lines of. “After enjoying a wonderful semester at this fine school, it has become apparent to me that I would benefit greatly from a co-educational environment. This is not to take away from my time here but more about the opportunity to engage with a wider range of students in my major. “ just an idea on being thoughtful. It’s kind of like leaving a company. The new company wants to know how they would be a good fit but no one likes it when you speak down about the last job. And bad vacation policy or holiday parties is quite different than a legitimate cultural fit issue.

Thank you so much this was so helpful @privatebanker, and @bluebayou @gardenstategal
