Transferring FROM WPI ??

Hello all ..

I am just wondering about my chances, as a 3.5+ GPA student, to transfer from WPI to a top notch college (e.g. MIT...)

Would I be attractive to those kind of colleges ?

Thanks a lot

Hi ProfMe. At MIT in 2009-10, only 6% of transfer applications were accepted overall. The chances of admission are so low that I’d bet you wouldn’t be able to find a statistically meaningful difference between WPI and any similar college.

You can find transfer admittance atatistics by googling “Common Data Set” for the colleges you have in mind. Here is MIT’s:

[MIT Office of the Provost, Institutional Research](<a href=“MIT Institutional Research”>MIT Institutional Research)

slim to none.

ProfMe,

It looks like you are an incoming freshman from your other posts. If so, I wouldn’t start any college with the idea that I just wanted to get out of there.

Pick among the colleges that did accept you and go there with the attitude that you will learn and have a good time, and maybe you will. If not, you certainly won’t do either.

Thank you guys for you comments … It helped to have an idea.
