I recently moved from a top-ranked public high school in the Seattle area to one in the Houston area that's barely making the list.

It has so far been a horrible experience, but nonetheless one I have to go through and struggle with if I want to get into a good college.

The registrar at my new school will not count my math class in 8th grade as honors, even though it specifically says honors on my middle school transcript. This isn't the only thing, however. They will not count my semester of history freshman year as a credit towards the Social Studies requirement for graduation. The reply I got when I asked why is because it has an identical name as what I took sophomore year, which is AP World History. What kind of absolute bull**** is that? It's now labeled as a "Special Topics" course on my transcript. Is there any way to call up my former middle or high school and have them talk to the registrar at my new school to confirm that this was in fact an honors course? Has anyone been in a similar situation?
