So i was admitted into A&M and would like to do Chemical Engineering but i didnt get that. Instead I got into chemistry at sciences and chem E is currently filled up. So I'd like to transfer into that school/major but I dont know when i could do that or the implications of transferring into a major randomly or the difficulty of getting in. Help me please!

It probably wouldn’t be too difficult to transfer after your first or second semester. The process isn’t difficult at all, just a little bit of paperwork after talking to your advisor.

Wow! thanks i thought it would be pretty difficult to transfer from the sciences college to the engineering college which appears to be pretty competitive

The transfer process its self is easy. You need to do well your first semester or two to have a shot because it is indeed competitive with sometimes limited number of spots, but spots will definitely open up, some people aren’t just cut out for engineering. Try and get the best GPA you can. The first year classes may be slightly different like I don’t know what math chemistry majors take… maybe like math 131 but you can probably take 151 since it’s probably tougher and would count as what you need for engineering anyways. I’m not sure if chemistry majors take physics or not. www.catalogs.tamu.edu to look at the different degree programs. I’m not sure if the catalog lists the first year classes but in general freshman engineering students take:

math 151
engr 111
phys 218
math 152
chem 107
engr 112
phys 208

Those and ENGL 104 are the CBK’s for engineering.
