Transferring in Architecture??

Is the transferring from one school's architecture to others' usually happen??
Also, is the transferring better(easier) in first year on 5-year program or second year is better??
I am planning to do so, but have no idea about it...
appreciate....

It is not often that that happens. A vast majority who transfer do so to another major within the same institution and not to another architecture program. Should you choose to transfer, you should do it as soon as possible, the earlier in your career the better as schools tend to be vary in their curricula and may not accept credits from other architecture program (as it will be portfolio based for architecture students versus your transcript). As such, you can see how it would behoove you to consider a transfer earlier rather than later.

i would warn you that some schools do not even accept transfers to their architecture school like Notre Dame, and that if you don’t transfer in by second year, at latest, you may have to spend 6 years for the BArch. However, at schools like Syracuse, I know the curriculum in freshmen year is so intense, that even this may be an issue. I would definitely call Admissions at whatever school(s) you are interested in and try and talk with the head of the Architecture program and see if the placement would work and how much you have to catch up.

that being said, i think it is rare to transfer architecture program.
