Hey you guys. I just recently went to a counselor at my CC to get advice on transferring, and she didnt really help at all. So i was wondering if I could find some help here.

I graduated from High School with 6 AP's and two years early, so my parents forced me to go to Community College to stay at home. And so when I got to college, I realized I already had 26 (semester) credits from my AP's, plus 3 more from a summer class I took.

When I signed up for classes at the CC, I was late, so unable to get any science classes, so right now I am taking History and other non-science stuff that I need to fulfill IGETC requirements.

This comes into play because i want to transfer to UCB for Integrated Biology. I was looking at the major requirements and if I transfer there in the fall, I will have only fulfilled 1/2 of the requirements.

My dilemma (sorry for being so long winded) is that my CC does not have a TAG with Cal, so I will have to apply. Assist.org says the major criterion for acceptance are:
- completion of L&S Requirements (or IGETC), plus
- strength of academic preparation, and
- grade point average

And because of how I am doing it, the only GPA that will show on the application (because it is in November, before fall grades are out) is the one A from my summer class, and my scores on AP's (five 5's, one 4). I also will have not completed IGETC (though I will by end of spring) or very many of the major requirements.

So my question is, do you think it is possible for me to transfer?
or should I instead stay at my CC for Fall '09 to finish up the major requirements and take off Spring '10 to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, then apply for fall '10?

Also I have been thinking about UCLA, but their classes are not matched with colleges, so I doubt it will happen. Another fun fact, I cant get a job because I have to make under $7000 a year in order to get my tuition paid (dads a vet)
