Transferring in the Spring

Hi guys. Im currently looking to transfer in the spring to another university in the spring. I am a freshman currently at an SEC school and i was wondering if you guys had any knowledge of what top schools accept spring transfers. Also, will my high school gpa affect me a lot? I had around a 2.8, not the best because i was a lazy bastard. Thanks

What schools did you have in mind? Many unis have minimum credit requirements that you can find on their admissions pages or in their CDS.

Elon, Univ. of Indiana-Blooimgton, Trinty College, Syracuse, Boston University, and Villanova

Indiana-Bloomington, Trinity, BU, and Villanova are out-of-reach.

Why?

Those schools are thought to be out of reach for you because freshman transfers are looked at largely in terms of their high school record.
Unfortunately, your high school record isn’t nearly within range of those schools.
I know I sound a bit harsh but you’ll need to make a complete 180 from your HS performance to have a competitive chance. If you truly desire to have the best odds at a top college, you’ll have to stay longer at your current institution, achieve a significantly stronger GPA, and show those schools that you’re not the same as you were in high school.

Ive been in contact with them and they said if i have a 4.0 (which plan on getting) that ill have a good chance on getting in for spring.

Elon and Syracuse might even be out-of-reach as well. Sorry.
