Transferring into a music major

Hello all,

I am currently an Undergraduate at the University of California, Irvine entering my second year as a Pharmaceutical Sciences major. Just like the title indicates, i am looking for schools or institutions to transfer to in order to pursue some sort of education in music. i realized that i did not desire a career in sciences anymore because i did not have the motivation to study. Basically, i wanted a science related job for the money. It took me a while to realize that my true passion is in music. However, i have never been formally trained in the instrument i wish to excel in (the guitar). everything i have learned was self taught or through various lessons on the internet. The most experience i have in performing ( i use this word lightly) is at my local church. I have looked into some music schools such as Berklee, USC, and CSUN for their music programs but i know that my skills would not merit entrance into these schools purely on musical skills. i know that CSUN has a music industry major, but they require an audition for all types of music majors.

Basically what i'm trying to get at is that i need help finding the first steps for my situation described above. I apologize if it was unclear and unorganized, but I've never done something like this before and my loved ones don't exactly encourage things like transferring or straying from the asian norm. Any and all help is appreciated, even if it is telling me that i should just stick to my guns and continue science. Thank you
