Hi, I know this isn’t the right time when people start looking into transfers, but BU has always been my dream school so I plan on transferring no matter what. Is transferring into BU as a biology major very hard? I’ve heard that they don’t accept as many biology transfers and they might for other majors.
I think that we need more information. On an earlier thread you said that you were accepted into BU. Did this not happen, or were you unable to afford it? What school do you currently attend or will you attend next month? What are your stats? What is your budget?
Are you premed? Why would you want to transfer to BU? To me it does not seem to be worth the price unless you get great financial aid (which tends to be rare for transfers). There are a LOT of universities that have very good biology programs.
Purely anecdotal. Several acquaintances have children who transferred to BU in the past year. The schools involved were Salve Regina, Marist, Connecticut College and UMass Dartmouth. All had been initially denied in HS. The parents involved seemed to think BU transfers have a better chance than Frosh admissions. They were good students in college as well.
