Transferring into GMU

Hey guys! I just currently finished my first semester (fall) of my sophomore year and so I have a total of 42 credits. My cumulative GPA currently is a 2.9 at Radford University (4 year public institute). Right now, I applied for GMU spring semester 2013 and I'm having a panic attack because I feel like I'm borderline. I want opinions and advice on any way to increase my chances of getting in? I sent my SAT (1780) and also got 2 recommendations also sent. Opinions are welcomed.

Brian, It is hard to know with just that info. I would think you have a chance but dont think it is clear one way or the other. The 2.9 may be tough. Good luck.

What more information could I provide that could help better the post?

I had a 3.06 UW GPA and 1560 SAT when I applied. I constantly got mail and e-mails form them daily before I applied. They really wanted me so you shouldn’t worry too much.

Thanks for the support! But, that’s high school though. I think that the transfer process is COMPLETELY different from the high school process. Other then that, I think I’d be golden too. Ahh…I’m praying hard. Very hard. Wish me luck :(

bump for more thoughts

Hopefully others will chime in as it seems important to you to get feedback from a collection of folks. The reality is no one can say one way or the other;we can only givr best guesses based on limited information. The rest is entirely about how a particular admissions committee fills out a class and for transfer students, how they fill in holes in a class based on attrition. For first year/semester of college, I think you look competitive. There arent too many things you can do at this point other than fighting to get the best grasdes out there.

Did you get in supbhan?
