how hard is it to transfer from gtown college to the SFS after first year assuming everything goes well?

I transferred this year as a junior...and yes, pretty hard unless you have some strong reason for getting in. of the 170 transfers to gu this year...about 20-30 are SFS

yea both those 170 transfers were not from georgetown college, they were from other schools.

Its possible to transfer from the college if your grades are good (at least 3,9 GPA) and you have two excellent recommendations. also, go to the SFS offices and talk to them, tell them in person why you want to go there, make them know ur name. I myself got in from the MSB after freshmen year, but didnt accept it... But as I said, its possible. Good luck

you don't need a 3.9 to transfer to the SFS. One of my friends transferred from the MSB to SFS after first semester sophomore year, and he had about a 2.7-2.8 GPA (made a lot of mistakes freshman year). He transferred into International Political Economy. It depends on what major you want to pursue as well. My friend originally wanted to study International Economics, but after meeting with a dean, they advised him that IPEC would be easier to get into, and you still get some aspects of IECO. So no, you don't need a 3.9 to transfer into the SFS.

also, the main thing you'll need to do is write an essay detailing why SFS would be a better fit for you, what you want to study, etc. Not sure if SFS would ask for recommendations. I myself transferred into NHS from the College, and they looked at my grades and my intent essay, and didn't ask for recommendations.
