Has anyone transferred into Stern (ideally as a junior) without completing the Calculus I requirement?

The reason I ask is because I will have all of the required courses done in time if I was to transfer, except my schools equivalent to the Calculus I requirement. I've taken Business Calculus but I know it "typically does not satisfy the calculus requirement for Stern transfers."

Is it worth even applying and writing an explanation in the additional information section of the application explaining the reason behind it if I would be entering in as a junior?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated !

I transferred as a soph and I happened to know a few ppl who did transfer as juniors…but all of them had taken calc1 or higher.

Calc1 is basically HS math not college math and since stern is very math oriented for a b-school they expect you to know at least that much math. This is because calc1 is the pre req for their statistics course which initself is a pre req for some of the stern core business courses like Foundations of Financial Markets (the ‘intro to finance’ course).

As for the other pre req’s I dont think theyre that strict about Financial accounting, especially for sophomores ( i didnt take it coz it wasnt open to freshman at my college) but they are really serious about the econ.

Definitely apply, tell them ull take it over the summer (eventhough they dont consider the summer courses ur gonna take in ur transfer app) or if u can do take calc1 coz i like ive said in a million posts b4 stern LOVES math
