So, I got accepted into the College of L&S for Environmental Studies. I'm still unsure exactly what I want my major to be, but I am seriously considering different majors within the College of Engineering. I was wondering exactly how difficult it would be to transfer in there should I want to switch majors, and what steps I would need to take in order to do so.

you’re kinda swimming against the tide now. Had you decided this prior to submitting your SIR by the May deadline you could have been re-evaluated for engineering simply by sending an email. See https://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/admitted/MajorChanges.asp

But now that has passed, I think this applies: [Changing Majors | UCSB College of Engineering](http://engineering.ucsb.edu/current_undergraduates/advising_services/changing_majors/)

However I’m not a counselor or affiliated in any way with UCSB; I suggest you call the admissions office and the College of Engineering pronto (as in this week) to see if there’s any way to do it.

thanks, that was really helpful! i’ll make sure to call them asap.
