transferring into top colleges

Hello everyone,

I am a sophomore at a city school in Cleveland, Ohio. I am hoping to transfer to either NYU, Penn-Wharton, U. of Michigan, U. of Chicago, or Columbia in fall of 2005.

I currently have a 3.54 G.P.A. I have taken the most rigorous courses that my school has to offer. My fall semester G.P.A. is slightly lower because of my involvement in many leadership activities such as student government, student orientation leader, and leadership academy: to name a few.

I have a part-time job at FedEx to help support me while living on my own. I was out of school for almost four years before attending college. I was a C- student in high school, but obviously that has changed since then. Do I have a good shot in attending one of these institutions or are my aspirations a little bit over the top. Please list any suggestions that you have for me. Thank You.

Write a compelling essay. Do considerably good on the SATs and get good reccomendations. I am sure they would factor in that you work part-time job.
