Transferring into Ultra Competitve AEM Program!

hoping to transfer to one of these schools that i was rejected from Freshman year. I was going to transfer as a freshman, but decided to stay at U of Chicago. I think i got rejected b/c my essays could have been better ( that is what I get for listening to my friends and brother)..I didn't spend much time on them because i thought.. well lets just say he convince me that good essay or not id be a sure bet...obviously not lol..if anyone could evaluate my chances that would be great.

I am considering a career in Finance so i am looking at Penn Wharton, Cornell AEM, Harvard (rejected as Freshman), Yale (rejected as Freshman), Stanford (rejected as Freshman), Dartmouth, MIT (unlikely)

you've got great academic record and internships...so with that i'd say you should get into AEM BUT i dont know how your income and ambassador dad will weigh in...

are you looking at doing an mba? you might have better luck at mba programs if you keep that impressive gpa at chicago...

wow, I usually don't chance cause i'm a transfer applicant myself, but URM with with really high GPA and SAT and great EC's coming from top school like U Chicago...i'd be surprised if you're not in, as long as you don't screw up those essays...why is your income an anti-hook...the contract colleges seem to be looking for money right now :D

Id say you have a good chance but who knows since its so competitive. There are so many outsiders trying to transfering into cornell AEM and there are tons of Cornell people wanting to internal transfer into AEM. there will be a lot of competition for sure.

I am wondering what the transfer rate is like within cornell.
I was accepted cas econ, but I may want to transfer into aem when I am in the college.

yes, is it difficult to transfer internally? I know in some colleges it's as easy as filling out a form, in others it's much harder.

WOW shocked you didn't get into Dartmouth, Penn, etc out of high school.

also doesnt CALS have a finance major? why aem?

there's a finance specialization in AEM. it's not an actual major.

How the hell were you rejected as a freshman. My God your stats are perfect + your black + daddy's an amabassador I can't believe you weren't immediately accepted. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if you were accepted since your an amazing applicant. My suggestion would be to apply to better schools like Wharton, Yale, Stanford, etc.

Thanks guys, I know Cornells AEM program is ultra-competitive so I appreciate the feedback. More would be appreciated as well. I dont think being black helps at all when my families income is so high, considering I had access to the same resources as many of you. BTW, I did not apply to Penn or Dartmouth as a Senior in High School, just HYPS U of C and a couple others.

You'll only know if you apply. Our opinions are just that.

Bumpity Bump!
