Transferring Michigan schools

hi there!
I'm relatively new to college confidential, so I'm very excited to be a part of this community! :D

I currently live in Michigan, and let me just say that i didn't do my best in high school. Major procrastination and no motivation left my GPA at a 2.95.
Even with my ACT being a 28, my GPA made me a very unattractive candidate to many schools.

anywho, the past is the past, and now i look towards the future.
so far i have been accepted into:

WSU
Detroit mercy
U of Iowa
GVSU

I'm going to apply to Umich Dearborn soon, and one thing i know for a fact is that I'm NOT going to stay at ANY of these schools for all 4 years of undergrad. I really want to transfer, and UM/MSU seems like a reasonable goal to me.

which school out of the list seems like the best place to go, when considering social life, strength of academics, and campus size/quality?
and which school is the best if i want to transfer into Ann Arbor?
i heard somewhere that dearborn is the best when transferring into Ann Arbor, but I'm not sure. plus, online reviews say alot of negative things about dearborn. (has anyone gone there?)

or where else should i apply? i want to major in engineering or business, and with new motivation, i will not show the same academic performance as i did in high school.

any help from successful transfer students that came out of the schools listed above would be greatly appreciated.

WSU : urban environment. Many commuters. Not a high grad rate – due to its broad constituency

Detroit mercy : private school & private school expense. Much more hands on by faculty/staff. Good vibes

U of Iowa: don’t know

GVSU: more of a on campus environment

UM Dearborn: mostly commuters – probably the best academic institution of the bunch.

I would disagree that UofM Dearborn is the best academic institution. I would say University of Iowa and GVSU would be the best 2, then UofM Dearborn. If you’re intention is to transfer out or transfer to UofM Ann Arbor, then I would go to UofM Deaborn. To be honest I’m surprised you even got into Iowa and GVSU. A 2.95 GPA is not very good at all.

Keep in mind it is pretty tough to transfer to MSU and UofM. I would say you need around a 3.3 if not higher for MSU and at least a 3.6 to transfer to UofM.
