Transferring old credits to a CC . . . CONFUSED!

Is it normal for a community college to require that ALL classes from a former university transfer over to the CC if you want to transfer ANY of the former classes. (The only one I actually want to transfer is one math class from my old college.)

Also, how . . . do transfered classes actually show up on the transcript? Are they listed off to the side, or at the end, or what? Is the grade of the transferred classes applied to the current college's GPA? (That is what I am most worried about . . . I figure when I move on to a 4-year I will already get hit by my miserable former GPA once, when I submit the transcript for School 1. I don't want to take another hit by having the same miserable GPA factored into my current good GPA at School 2 (the community college.))

I'm in Washington state, if it makes a difference. I'm gearing up for yet another visit to the counselors next week but could really use some advice/hear some experiences in the meantime.

In my experience, the name of the class and the its number of credits for college #1 shows up on college #2’s transcript, but there is no mention of what grade I earned for college #1’s classes on college #2’s transcript.
