Transferring Out: Course/ Unit Clarification

Hello,
It is currently the summer after my first year of college and I want to transfer out from Cal Poly Pomona (History Major Pre-Credential; 1 year) to a Community College for better odds of gaining admittance to a UC. My goal is to transfer into UCSB but I plan to apply to few other UC’s as well.

My dilemma is understanding the units that will transfer. I’ve looked into the courses that I’d need to take to satisfy IGET certification, TAG and have taken into account all the courses I need to get into a UC. According to Assist.org, the ONLY courses that transfer from CPP to UCSB are ENG 110 and PHL 202 (two of which I have already taken and passed).

CPP is on the quarter system. The community college I may attend is Fullerton College (semester system). I tried getting an appointment with a counselor at the CCC but they are booked for the next two weeks and my registration appointment for the CCC is in two weeks exactly. I need any advice i can receive ASAP. As much as I want to transfer, the amount of time it will take me to get my planned degree is crucial to me.

Would I have to retake all but those two classes at the CCC? Would my CSU credits directly be transferred to UC or do they sort of convert to CCC credit?

When you apply to the UC system, you will need to send your Cal Poly Pomona transcript. The UCs will transfer the classes that they accept. You shouldn’t have to re-take any of those classes at the CC.

Thank you @happymomof1
