Transferring out of Liberal studies into another university?

Hello!

I got into NYU and am planning on attending. I did not get in the college of arts and sciences but instead the liberal studies core program, which seems really fun to be honest!

However, as I’m quite a neurotic and anxiety ridden person, I was wondering whether, just in case I hated NYU, I could transfer to another university without any weird issues involving liberal studies. In Liberal studies you take a select number of compulsory humanities courses (which is pretty cool for me, since i love the humanities), and then you are guaranteed a place in CAS amongst other schools within NYU. But how would that translate if I were to transfer to a completely different university? Would it be fine or would it cause weird issues?

I hope this makes sense and thank you!

Should be no issue, assuming you have the grades (and other qualifications) to get into the college you’re transferring to. Indeed, you may find that your liberal studies core classes fulfill some requirements at the school you’re transferring to.

It wouldn’t be an issue. I was in LS and knew a few people who transferred out of NYU. Anytime you transfer to a new school there are likely going to be wonky transfer credit stuff. LS courses will likely satisfy Philosophy/History/English credits at other universities.
