I'm going to say sorry upfront if this information has already been posted somewhere on this site. I'm finishing up at a CCC this coming Spring and I'm curious about transfers to international universities, such as University of Queens in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Oxford University. I tried looking on their sites and I understand they welcome international students, but I'm confused about transfers. Thanks!

My understanding is that the concept of transferring doesn’t really exist there. Instead, students completely start over at a new uni as freshmen.

Oh okay, thanks so much for the info.

I’m also going to a CC here in California and I’m also looking to transfer to QuB. I sent them an email at one point to ask whether my credits would transfer or if i would start as an entry level student. Their answer was very vague but they did not nix it right off. Basically they said it would all depend on the courses you have taken and what they would decide to do with them. If you have looked at out of states schools in the US, it’s basically the same response - Case by case basis . In my opinion ( and kind of what I’m planning on doing since I was unaware of how affordable it would be to go straight off from highschool and therefore never looked at QuB while I was in highschool) is that since the European university structure is a lot more straightforward than the US system and most students graduate in 3 years instead of the 4 or 5 here in the US, I would say just go for it whether they take your credits or not. If you really want to go to school in Europe as an undergrad, do it :]
