transferring out of tulane

My GPA first semester of freshman year was slightly over a 3.7 (in mainly upper-level honors classes), and I'm in the Honors Program.

What are my chances of getting in to a school like Brown or Yale?
(I realize that the admissions process for the class of 2014 was insane and thus there will likely be fewer spots available for those transferring in Fall 2011...)

From what I understand, the Ivies have almost zero transfer slots, and haven’t for some time. I am sure there are a very few exceptions, but it makes the odds extremely low.

you look like a competitive applicant, but the fact is that these schools just don’t take lots of transfers- maybe just 1 or 2. so, no matter how high your stats are, it’s basically a crap shoot.

you look competitive for schools that are great but not ivy, say vanderbilt or something like that.

I think you need a great HS record and EC’s too. Maybe raise your GPA by at least .1 too. Since you would be a sophomore transfer no one can say your chances only knowing your 1 semester GPA since your HS record would be considered heavily.

Also Brown is need aware for transfers so if you would need FA that will count against you.
