Transferring out west, some questions

I'm at Virginia Tech right now and am thinking of either transferring to the U. of Utah or U. of Colorado. Price is a big issue for my family, so Utah is a better deal on this note (cheaper then Tech also). Colorado is more expensive, but seems to be the better overall college? can anyone advise me on this matter, the quality of life vs. price in both schools. Thanks a lot.

I used to live in Colorado. It's a beautiful place. However, one of the reasons my family decided to move was because of prices. The price of everything was quite high about 4 years ago when we moved, so I imagine it still is. Also, when I lived there, UC and Boulder itself had a reputation of being a big party school/town. Now whether that is the case now, you'd have to ask someone who lives there. But for location, you can't go wrong.

The drawback with Utah is that it is primarily a commuter campus, so it's lacking in much of the traditional college social life that a school like Colorado would offer. A few alternatives you might look into: U of Oregon, U of Washington, U of Wyoming, U of Montana. Good luck.

Bump bump bump

I live really close to Colorado and Utah. Just something you should know, Utah is like 75% Mormon and everything that goes with that, so keep that in mind. The Colorado schools and the Utah schools have a good reputation in the region, better than Montana/Wyoming, etc. I really like Ft. Collins. It's a nice town.

All I know is that Boulder is absolutely MAGNIFICENT! So far, I visited 7 times and plan to come again and again.... It is the place where I feel happiest....
