So with the end of my first semester of college, I stand with a 3.47 GPA at the University of Scranton. I'm currently a biology/pre med major with an interest with adding a second major (History). My plan is to transfer at the end of my Sophomore year which would mean I will enter a new school fall of 2013. My current choices are, Penn State (University Park), Cornell University (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), and Fordham. Are there any other schools I should be looking into? The school I primarily want to attend has to be, in the northeast, has a strong biology/ pre med program, has a high medical school acceptance rate for its students, is nationally known for its research in the life sciences, and actually has research that is ground breaking. The research done at my school is mediocre, not well known, and above all the price is way to expensive for its name. So any ideas? Oh and I might pull back on Fordham because I herd their science program isn't the greatest.

Slightly OT, but I’d highly recommend spending some time on the PreMed Topics forum, there’s a lot of great info and some very knowledgeable posters.

You might be interested in some of the factors that a current Med school student (and one of the forum’s most respected members) thinks are important for a premed college:

Yea. I just want to see what schools I could get into first

I was responding to your request for other possible schools to apply to and your selection criteria. Some of the factors you list are not ones that are considered important (eg. high med school acceptance rate is not good measure as schools compute their statistics is widely different ways) by current med school students. These are factors that are important for selecting which schools to apply to as well as which to attend once accepted.
